<div>We have a winter storm on the way for Wednesday through Friday. &nbsp;The event  is anticipated to produce heavy snow in the mountains with smaller amounts in  the valley areas. &nbsp;The briefing was conducted by Nanette Hosenfeld, who is a  meteorologist at the National Weather Service Forecast Office.</div>

<p><b>Notes from the presentation</b></p>
<p>Between Friday night and Saturday morning:</p>
<ul>
<li>Sustained winds of 30-40 mph with winds gusting to 60 mph</li>
<li>Snow in the northern Wasatch Mountains: 8-12 inches</li>
<li>Snow in the southern Wasatch Mountains: 3-6 inches</li>
<li>Snowy roads north of Brigham City.</li>
</ul>
<p>Winds will affect the major east-west highways through the state.</p>
<p>Then, through Sunday morning will have a variety of hazardous weather conditions, such as snow accumulating along the Wasatch Front, difficult mountain travel and heightened avalanche danger.</p>
<p><b>The upside?</b> Better skiing should be coming.</p>
<p><b>Next briefing from the National Weather Service in Salt Lake City:</b> Expected Saturday.</p>
<p><b>FLOODING:</b></p>
<p><a href="http://forecast.weather.gov/wwamap/wwatxtget.php?cwa=slc&amp;wwa=flood%20advisory">Flood advisory issued </a>for poor drainage areas of central Morgan, central Weber and western Cache counties.</p>
