PRESIDENT DECLARES A MAJOR DISASTER FOR UTAH
WASHINGTON - The head of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Craig Fugate announced today that federal aid is available to the state of Utah to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the area struck by struck by severe winter storms and flooding during the period of December 20-24, 2010.
Federal funding is available to state and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work in Kane and Washington Counties.
FEMA named William J. Doran III as the Federal Coordinating Officer for federal recovery operations in the affected area. Doran said additional designations may be made at a later date if requested by the state and warranted by the results of further damage assessments.

President Obama Signs Utah Disaster Declaration
The President today declared a major disaster exists in the State of Utah and ordered Federal aid to supplement State and local recovery efforts in the area struck by severe winter storms and flooding during the period of December 20-24, 2010.
Federal funding is available to State and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work in Kane and Washington Counties.
W. Craig Fugate, Administrator, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Department of Homeland Security, named William J. Doran III as the Federal Coordinating Officer for Federal recovery operations in the affected area.
